The Iron County Care and Share is governed by a diverse and committed group from both the Business and Private Sector of Iron County. The volunteer board cares deeply about Iron County Care and Share, and they mirror our mission to fight Hunger and end Homeless in Iron County.

Dane Womack, Board Chair
A Cedar City local, Dane attended and graduated Canyon View High School. He was student body president and Boy of the Year for the class of 2005. He served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brazil.
Dane worked in the insurance industry for 8 years, before taking over operations of a security company, now known as Onsite Private Security. Dane serves as the President of the company; starting in 2018, taking the business from 4 part-time employees and a broken-down company vehicle, to 40+ employees with 17 company vehicles. Dane strives to bring his experience as an employer and business owner to help Iron County Care and Share thrive.
Dane met his sweet wife, Stephanie, while attending SUU, and were married in 2008. They have 3 children, all boys, ages 11, 9 and 7. Dane enjoys multiple hobbies, including singing, annoying his wife and children, and has recently developed a golf addiction.
Dane has been a member of the board since April 2021.
Melinda Ford, Board Treasurer
Melinda is a mother of five (four boys and one girl), a wife, a professor of accounting at SUU, and an owner of a small catering company. Melinda also occasionally provides accounting consulting services to local members of the community. Family care takes up the majority of her time, with her career taking second place.
Her hobbies include gardening, baking, food storage, and art.
Melinda has a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from BYU and a PhD in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh, and specializes in financial accounting (geared toward reporting to external parties), managerial accounting (focused on internal reporting and decision making), and corporate governance (ethical compliance, social responsibility, and internal controls).
Melinda has held several positions in accounting and, after completing her master’s degree, worked as assistant controller and controller before returning to school to complete her doctorate.
Melinda has been a member of the board since May, 2023.
Bruce Washburn, Board Secretary
Bruce grew up on a farm in Central Illinois. He went to pharmacy school at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
While at Drake, he met my wife of 53 years, Leigh Rice. They have one daughter and two grandsons.
Over the years they have lived in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Utah, South Dakota, and then back to Utah for retirement.
His career in pharmacy started in retail pharmacy, then went on to hospital pharmacy and eventually to a clinical position with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Along the way, he added to his education with an MBA and PharmD degrees.
Since retirement they have been spending their time enjoying all the Southern Utah has to offer, and travel to places outside the United States.
Bruce has been a member of the board since January, 2023.
Donna Handley, Member
Donna Handley, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Program Director for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at SUU. She has a background in local government community development, creating the nonprofit management courses for Arkansas State University where she previously served, and has worked with numerous nonprofit boards and organizations in various capacities including board and staff training, strategic planning, and program evaluation.
She is married to Marc, and they have two teenage daughters. They enjoy spending family time together outdoors, and watching sports, especially college football and basketball. Her family is active in their local church, where her husband serves as a Deacon and the girls are active in the youth group ministry. She also enjoys reading, traveling, nature walks, and game nights connecting with friends and family.

Trevor Bradford, Member
Trevor Bradford is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and the founder of SymTec, a notable business IT company. With his expert knowledge and strategic thinking, he has propelled SymTec to become a reliable provider of innovative IT services. Trevor’s acute understanding of complex business and technology systems has ensured SymTec’s growth and reputation in the industry.
Away from his professional commitments, Trevor has a strong passion for mountain biking. He enjoys the thrill of conquering diverse terrains, continuously pushing the boundaries of his physical endurance and skills. This adventurous hobby provides him with an exciting contrast to his demanding work in the tech sector.
In his personal life, Trevor is a dedicated husband to Kirsten and a proud father to four boys. His family is his bedrock, serving as a grounding force and source of inspiration. Despite his demanding career, Trevor successfully maintains a work-life balance, spending quality time with his family and nurturing the growth of his sons.
All in all, Trevor Bradford is a figure of resilience, innovation, and dedication. He leaves an indelible imprint in the IT sector while setting an inspiring example in both his professional and personal life.

Brooke MacNaughtan, Member
Brooke L. MacNaughtan began her career with Leavitt Group in January 2002 shortly before she graduated summa cum laude from Southern Utah University. Brooke was educated in Cedar City, UT, apart from earning a minor in Spanish through the State University of New York at New Paltz’s study abroad program in Spain.
Brooke currently serves as Leavitt Group’s Chief People & Community Officer where her portfolio of responsibilities includes overseeing travel and events, recruiting, employee experience, and Leavitt Group culture. Brooke is a member of various councils throughout the Leavitt Group organization and has been a member of Leavitt Group Enterprises’ Board of Directors since 2017.
Brooke has served on the board of the Orchestra of Southern Utah since 2005 and enjoys being a member of the orchestra’s cello section.
Brooke continues to reside in Cedar City with her husband, Mac, and their three children.
Brooke has been a member of the board since September, 2023.
Matt Pruitt, Member
Matt Pruitt is an attorney at the law firm Kirton McConkie with a practice focused on corporate law, contracts, litigation, judgment collection, entertainment, intellectual property, estate planning, and real estate. He has argued before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Matt has a background in the entertainment industry in management and agent positions for such multi-platinum acts as The Killers and Imagine Dragons.
Matt moved with his family to Cedar City in March 2022. In his free time Matt likes to garden and spend time with his family.
Matt has been a member of the board since May, 2023.
Schuyler Rhodes, Member
Schuyler has been a member of the board since March, 2023.
Evangeline Taylor, Member
Evangeline Taylor is a results-driven project advisor with a talent for seamless project management. She excels in coordinating diverse teams and streamlining complex projects, ensuring efficient execution.
Evangeline’s expertise extends to public-private partnerships in the energy sector, with a strong focus on sustainability and carbon reduction. Her exceptional communication skills and adaptability make her an asset in diverse environments.
In addition to her professional achievements, Evangeline is a dedicated board member at Iron County Care and Share, where she contributes to community support and empowerment.

Len Whitacre, Member
Len Whitacre married Pat 54 years ago. She, their six children and 21 grandchildren are his greatest joy. Len graduated with high honors in Philosophy from BYU. His last two years he taught undergraduate logic, and ethics. He was hired and trained in computer science and accounting at IBM. Len ended his brief career as IBM’s leading new account salesperson and area competitive sales advisor. He then started a corporate consulting company, evaluating and aligning ownership’s vision and guiding principles with company policies and practices. While consulting he won a contract to design and code an accounting system. Within two years a staff of 60 developers published applications and development tools used at universities and corporations worldwide. Len was president of his trade association. He coached each of his children’s youth leagues. He coached high school basketball for 18 years. He served his faith, including years with young adults. He led community projects with over a thousand volunteers. His greatest desire was to keep his family first. His proudest achievement, during his business life, was sleeping at home every night. Len has been a member of the board since January, 2023.
